Karuna was upset with Maran's phone call to state home secretary- Hindustan Times

This is a troublesome development in Tamil Nadu. Mr. Karunanidhi wants to maintain full control over the state. It is only possible in India. A Chief Minister should be worried about serving the people not launching a new TV channel. Dayanidhi Maran has consolidated his financial position since UPA came to power in 2004. Media has not focused on him so it is hard to say if there is any corruption involved in his functioning. DMK has polarized Tamil Nadu politics since it came to power. People who attacked the Sun TV station must be arrested. I feel that Mr. Karunanidhi and his sons are unnecessarily worrying about the future DMK leadership. The issue should be left to the people of Tamil Nadu. Politicians are only custodians of today in a democratic setup. There is no way to guarantee future victories in elections. "Ram Setu" issue is heating up. The outcome of trial of His Holiness Shankaracharya of Kanchi, Jayendra Saraswati, will be an indicator where the Tamil Nadu politics is going. Controversial reservation laws and the Ninth Schedule issues will definitely put Karunanidhi government in the dock. I remain concerned about the LTTE factor in Tamil Nadu. I hope that UPA's "soft" and "healing touch" policy and lack of a strong anti-terror law would not embolden LTTE.
