Kalam bound to take the advice of the Union Cabinet? Hindustantimes, Saturday, April 14, 2007

Since the UPA Government came to power in 2004 after forming an alliance with bad-marriage like allies, it has been trying to find ways to ignore the Constitution and weaken the Constitutional institutions. Now nothing more need to be said about the history and background of public life of Election Commissioner Mr. Navin Chawla. However, if readers are interested they can read more about Mr. Chawla at http://www.hvk.org/articles/0705/60.html Let me remind you that the job of an Election Commissioner is to oversee that elections are conducted in a free and fair way. A person who shows no respect for the fundamental rights of the citizens is least likely to be able to fulfill these high responsibilities. Mr. Chawla's close association with many Congress leaders will make it impossible for him to be fair to other political parties.

Let us hope that this matter will now be settled by the Supreme Court and once again Constitutional Institutions will gain their honor back.
