Communal forces destroying composite culture: PM- Hindustan Times
"Any political formation attempting to incite and divide people along religious lines is betraying India's civilizational values and its Constitution, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has said."
Mr. Prime Minister your above statement seems to as far away from reality as your UPA government is from Secularism and respect for the Constitution. This is UPA coalition's first preference to divide people along religious lines. Lets review some examples:
(1) Congress government in Andhra Pradesh came up with reservation for Muslims right after it came to power in that state. Isn't this action dividing the people on the basis of religion? Why not some reservation for Jains or Buddhists?
(2) Your UPA coalition ally DMK has recently announced reservation for Muslims and Christians. Are they uniting the society by this religion based reservation policy?
(3) Secularism means that the Government has nothing to do with people's religion. But for UPA it seems that all policies have to do with the religion. When BJP talks about Hindutva, your UPA coalition is not far behind in that race. You appease minorities based on their religion. Have you ever tried to appease a poor Brahmin family on the basis of their poverty?
(4) If UPA & Congress are secular forces then why try to control Hindu temples in Andhra Pradesh? Why not take over other religion worship places.
(5) When Muslim clerics give fatwa in favour of Congress, you dont say a word? Isn't that communalism?
Mr. Prime Minister your UPA coalition and your leadership is living in a dream world. You are busy counting votes in the name of secularism while Assam is ready to become another Kashmir. Thanks to your full support for illegal Bangla Deshis who will make Assam a Muslim Majority state in coming 2-3 decades.
Indians are waiting for next general elections when they will look for real solutions to India's real problems instead of your failed leadership under which India has even mortgaged its sovereignty and free foreign policy.
It is time for reality check Mr. Prime Minister, we are waiting for UP election results. Mr. Prime Minister let me remind you what Indian Supreme Court has said about secularism in
Supreme Court Civil Appeal No. 4730 of 1999 -Decided On: 08.08.2005- Appellants: Bal Patil and Anr. Vs. Respondent: Union of India (UOI) and Ors. I quote..
"Our concept of secularism, to put it in a nut shell, is that 'state' will have no religion. The states will treat all religions and religious groups equally and with equal respect without in any manner interfering with their individual rights of religion, faith and worship."
